MJM began in my aunt’s flower shop when I was 12 years old, where I spent weekends, summers, Valentine’s Days and every other holiday you can think of, helping with orders and learning the basics of the craft. Although my aunt didn't focus on weddings, those early years stayed with me even as I pursued a twenty-year career in education.
It wasn't until I designed the flowers for my own wedding in 2017 that I truly felt the "Zen" of floral artistry. That moment of clarity inspired me to start MJM Occasions in 2022.
I realized that busy professionals deserve a floral partner who brings both artistic vision and a teacher’s organized, calm approach to the table. What began as a heartfelt project for friends and family has grown into a full-service studio dedicated to creating magnetic, garden-style wedding floral designs for couples across Chicago.
